Hiring managers interview countless candidates over the years and as such, they have met many types of candidates. During an interview, they can tell if the candidate is hireable or not under 30 minutes. To avoid any bad decisions, hiring managers will observe these "ref flags" during the interview. These "red flags" are often signs that the candidate is a bad hire or won't stick around.

If you really want the job, avoid committing these mistakes during the interview! Be prepared and study before the interview day.

1. "I can't decide which job to choose. I've got so many offers."

Now you want to brag and talk highly about yourself? You mention you've got other job offers during the job interview, what for? To make a statement that "everyone likes me and they want to hire me"? If you mention this, the interviewer will likely back off because he has no interest to join a bidding war.

2. Walk in with a messy outfit

Come on, at least please give some effort for your big day. Hey, it's your job interview! Put aside those basic t-shirts and jeans. This is the right time to put on the best outfit you have in your wardrobe to impress the interviewer. First impressions matter, so opt for a formal or semi-formal outfit. As long as it looks smart, neat, and tasteful.

3. Not asking any questions

Asking questions at the end of the job interview is not a must, but it will give a good impression because a good interview happens when both sides are engaged. Ask smart questions that show you are very interested in the company and role, but don't ask about things you should already know! If you don't ask any questions at all, it's a red flag.

4. "Let's do this Spartans!"

Don't compete or argue with the interviewer! It's totally impolite and you will come across as someone who is difficult to teach. It's okay to be a little aggressive but don't overdo it. Control your emotions and don't react loudly or go overboard trying to show that you're confident or smart.

5. "Am I late for the interview?"

No one likes it when people are late, especially for an interview. If you have to commute far from your home to the interview location, then plan ahead! Take into account factors such as traffic and parking that will affect your journey. Remember this may be your only opportunity to get the offer so be on time.
